Dr. Meena Sathappan is a board-certified pediatrician with over 32 years of clinical experience. She is an independent practitioner affiliated with El Camino Health through the El Camino Health Medical Network. Through this affiliation, Dr. Sathappan collaborates with El Camino Health’s network of trusted specialists and services to support coordinated, patient-centered care while preserving the personalized attention of a private practice.

She cares for children from birth through young adulthood, managing all aspects of pediatric health. Her clinical interests include developmental pediatrics and pediatric mental health, areas in which she is deeply committed to early identification, thoughtful guidance, and family-centered support.

Dr. Sathappan earned her medical degree from the prestigious Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) in India. She completed her residency training in Pediatrics at Columbia University, New York.

After initially practicing in Arizona, she moved with her husband and children to the San Jose–Evergreen area in June 2000. She served as a staff physician with Kaiser Permanente (Santa Teresa) and at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, while also providing coverage for several pediatric practices in San Jose.

Driven by a lifelong passion for pediatrics, Dr. Sathappan fulfilled her dream of establishing her own practice to offer deeply personalized, relationship-based care. The name Aasha, meaning “hope” in Hindi, reflects both that vision and a heartfelt tribute to her children, Aakash and Varsha.

Dr. Sathappan remains actively involved in the community and has contributed health-related columns to the Evergreen Times.
